A gray, cloudy, cold day did not prevent us from having a great time while in Massachusetts over Columbus Day. A long walk followed by a drive through the countryside culminating in a little picnic made a great day for the boys and Mom and Dad. The foliage, while not quite at its peak, was still beautiful. How did I happen to have a pair of boys so late in life? Back in 1987, my first wife died of breast cancer leaving me with a son Brian Duane and daughter Heather Lynn, ages 12 and 10 respectively. My son Brian has become an assistant college professor at UTEP and is a published author. My daughter is a busy mother of three who chose to leave a very lucrative position to become a stay-at-home mom. In 2002 I met my current wife on a Christian Friendship site. We spent a great deal of time chatting, then met in person, became engaged and married in October of 2003. By the end of October, 2004, we had our first son Matthew Ryan and almost two years later Everett Scott was given to us by the Lord. I thank the Lord for giving me a loving, faithful wife and two wonderful little boys. Life certainly has more spice in it now than in those interim years after my first wife died and my two children, Brian and Heather, left home and married.
Precious blessing from the Lord.
